General Safety Guidelines

1. Operator Requirements

• Operators must hold a valid driver’s license and have permission to use the cart.

• Verify with your local government whether golf carts or low-speed vehicles are allowed on public roads.

1. Weather Restrictions

• Do not use the Rideabout in extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain or snow.
• Avoid driving through deep puddles or near bodies of water.

1. Maintenance Requirements

• Tire Care: Regularly inspect tires for proper air pressure, tread wear, and any cuts or damage.
• Electric Models: Switch lithium-ion batteries to the "OFF" position when the cart will not be used for extended periods.
• Gas Models: Check oil levels weekly and perform regular oil, fuel, and filter changes. Never operate a gas model indoors to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
• Suspension: Replace shocks and rear leaf springs every 3-4 years or as needed to maintain stability.

Loading a Wheelchair Passenger

• Turn off the ignition and set the forward/reverse switch to neutral.
• Move the driver’s seat outward by releasing the latch.

1. Deploy the Ramp

• Lower the ramp gently to the ground and secure it in place.

1. Boarding the Passenger

• Guide the wheelchair onto the cart, positioning it either forward-facing or sideways behind the driver’s seat.
• Use the Q’straint system to secure all four sides of the wheelchair, ensuring the straps are tightened and locked.
• Engage the wheelchair’s parking brake.

1. Secure the Cart

• Raise the ramp and latch it securely.
• Return the driver’s seat to its upright position.

Unloading a Wheelchair Passenger

1. Prepare the Cart

• Park on flat, level ground, engage the parking brake, and set the drive control to neutral.
• Move the driver’s seat outward by releasing the latch.

1. Deploy the Ramp

• Lower the ramp gently to the ground and secure it in place.

1. Release the Wheelchair

• Press the button on each wheelchair restraint to release the straps, removing the hooks from the wheelchair.
• Ensure all four restraints are disengaged.

• Release the wheelchair’s parking brake.
• Gently guide the wheelchair down the ramp. For powered wheelchairs, assist from the side of the ramp for added stability.
