More than 25% of adults in the U.S. aren’t getting enough sleep, according to 2020 data from the United States Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. “The foods we eat can affect the quality and duration of our sleep,” says Yasi Ansari, a registered dietitian and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics based in Los Angeles.
